Hair loss has become a prevalent issue lately, affecting many individuals due to factors like stress, postpartum recovery, illnesses such as COVID-19, aging, and various other reasons. The question arises: why does hair loss occur, and what can be done about it? Is hair regrowth possible? Is there a genetic component involved? I am here to address all your inquiries!
About me
For those unfamiliar with my background, I am a licensed cosmetologist with 12 years of experience. Alongside my passion for health and wellness, I have been pursuing studies to become a holistic health practitioner for the past three years. Additionally, I am a mother to two wonderful children aged 9 and 3. My interest in this subject grew from my personal experience with postpartum hair loss and the concerns expressed by many of my clients regarding their own hair loss.
Self made solutions for a growing problem
Through my research and personal journey combating hair loss resulting from stress, COVID-19, and postpartum recovery, I have acquired valuable insights and methods to support hair regrowth. The health of our hair and scalp is interconnected, offering insights into our overall health and well-being. It is essential to recognize that addressing hair loss does not have a universal solution, and identifying the most effective approach may necessitate consultation with a board-certified dermatologist or trichologist to devise a personalized plan for hair regrowth. This blog serves as a starting point for individuals embarking on their hair growth endeavors and is not a substitute for medical advice.

Addressing Hair Loss : DIY Solutions
Applying hair oil is a beneficial method that can promote hair growth by using moisturizing carrier oils combined with essential oils like rosemary oil, apricot seed oil, jojoba, grape seed, and others. This practice helps to stimulate hair follicles, enhancing growth and improving scalp health. Consequently, this leads to thicker, stronger, and fuller hair.
Another essential aspect to consider is your diet – are you consuming sufficient protein and staying adequately hydrated? Many individuals struggle to obtain the necessary nutrients in their daily diet to support optimal hair growth cycles. Incorporating foods like pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, and chia seeds into your diet can provide additional micronutrients such as iron, zinc, vitamin D3, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and magnesium. These vital nutrients are essential for maintaining overall health, which in turn promotes the growth of healthy, beautiful hair.
Choose your hair care products carefully.
Which shampoo and conditioner do you use at home? Occasionally, inexpensive products from drugstores can lead to a wax buildup on the scalp, clogging follicles and impeding blood flow and nutrient delivery to the hair. This may result in increased hair loss, dandruff, and dermatitis. I recommend opting for brands that are sulfate and paraben-free to prevent these issues.
